In focus: PlasmaPlus® Research and Development at Plasmatreat

At Plasmatreat, innovation has been the focal point of our business since the company was founded. To date, developing new plasma technologies and applications has been our core objective. Day after day, we respond to our customers’ ideas and the challenges they face by performing research and development for our customers. In this way, we make an important contribution to the development of groundbreaking processes and products.

Over 10% of all Plasmatreat employees work in Research and Development

Research and development at Plasmatreat covers the physical principles, electronics development and process engineering. We are thus the only company in the pretreatment industry to offer our customers and partners a broad spectrum of services ranging from the fundamental principles through to hardware development and chemistry.

Our partner network

Plasmatreat has purposefully built up an innovative network of entrepreneurs, educational and research institutions, funding organizations, interest groups and associations in recent years.

Here you will find a brief overview of our R&D partners

International institutes using PlasmaPlus® nano-coating for new research projects

In close cooperation with international research institutes and universities, we have been able to advance a large number of research projects. Plasmatreat developed the PlasmaPlus® nano-coating process for industrial manufacturing of functional surfaces in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research (IFAM). VDI (German Association of Engineers) awarded the "German Industry Award 2012" for the innovative PlasmaPlus® coating technology at the Hanover Fair, the world´s most prestigious industrial technology event.

PlasmaPlus® enables the development of many completely new functional coatings, material combinations and manufacturing processes. For new material experiments and parameter determination Plasmatreat introduced the laboratory system Plasmatreater AS400.

The French Research Institute CREPIM uses this laboratory system to develop fire-resistant materials and formulas. For EFFICOAT and PROTECT-SELECT, two joint projects of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the PlasmaPlus® technology is being used to research new material combinations in light weight construction and to develop highly efficient corrosion protection coatings.
